April 21, 2019 – (Easter Sunday) John 20:1-18 “Don’t Cling to Jesus?”

Jesus told Mary Magdaline not to cling to Him.  He had to ascend to the Father in order to send the Holy Spirit.  Sometimes we want to “cling to Jesus” – that is hold Him with us right where we are.  However, Jesus has other plans and He wants to go about His work.  When we try to keep Him where we are, we limit Him and prevent Him from working in our lives as He wants to.  When we do that, we are in control and not Him and we end up missing out on all sorts of blessings.  The reason being that we are not following the leading of the Spirit and fulfilling God’s will.
